This is a reproduction of my original 8”x10” oil painting. Printed on high quality archival paper using giclee ink to ensure color quality and prevent the ink from fading or yellowing. It comes mounted to a 1/8” backing board to increase durability and to make framing easier. It comes unframed.
This piece was done using a brush for the dark background and a palette knife only on the hawk. It is a young Red-tailed Hawk that hunts near our house. I took its picture as the sun was coming out after a wet, rainy morning. The bird was perched with its wings outstretched to dry its feathers. The hawks’ feathers may have been soaked and hanging; the eyes, however, were alive as ever. They were still hunting.
